Restoration Hardware Mirrors
A new recall in early February of 2017 identifies that Restoration Hardware’s Venetian-style 18th century glass doubled mirrors are potentially dangerous. These mirrors come with a wood backing in multiple sizes and shapes and are antique silver. The recall impacts those with a hangman hanging system located on the back. Only those with a hangman hanging system on the back are being recalled. Those mirrors with a production date after April 1, 2015 are part of this recall. The month and year of the production will be affixed to the mirror according to a green sticker on the back.
There are serious hazards associated with these glass mirrors, particularly since they are not properly glued to the backing material. This means that the mirror could fall and significantly injure someone due to a laceration hazard. Four reports have already been received by Restoration Hardware regarding the mirror detaching from the wood backing and leading to two laceration injuries. Those individuals who have this mirror in their home are strongly recommended to stop using the recalled mirrors and to contact Restoration Hardware for full refunds.
Approximately 1,400 units are impacted by this and these were manufactured in India. They were sold on RHBabyAndChild.com and RestorationHardware.com from April 2015 through May 2016. The maximum cost for these mirrors ran up to $1,800.
